“Roundly disturbing and somewhat forgettable. The Gears talk about their hesistancy to discuss canibalism in Native America in an Author's Note section of the book. While I think they are brave to face the controversy that is the only thing memorable about this book. Overall I never bonded with a single character, either good or bad. The story line was slowed up by so much descriptive narrative it read like a history book in some areas. They have other better books, skip this one.”
