A petite book, not to be read more than a chapter at a time. I read and re-read most of the book gaining insight and understanding each reading. Not a how-to by any means. Thomas Merton was a monk with a typewriter that wrote over 50 books. I enjoyed the theory and insight written based on years of understanding the differences in our monastic / cultural perspectives.

Thomas Merton was one of the few pure and wonderful souls who truly loved humanity without petty strings attached. His writing challenges my doubts and give me reason to believe that we are worth salvation.
