Norman Osborn and Loki conspire to take down Asgard which is near Buxton, Oklahoma. After causing an incident at Soldier Field in Chicago and involving Volstagg, the incentive is apparently there for the Dark Avengers to attack Asgard. Ares, a fellow God, opposes it but is persuaded to create a battle plan.

The battle is broadcast and Captain America, seeing the battle on the news, recruits many of the Avengers and a resurfaced Nick Fury to aid the Asgardians.

All hell breaks lose. Tony Stark returns. The Sentry goes over the edge and Norman Osborn falls from grace... before Loki reveals his worst.
