“Pack challenge by Shelly Laurenston
Magnus Pack Book 1
Zach Sheridan and his pack have come to Texas to retrieve the daughter of a pack member that had been murdered by the Pride some years ago. They had to wait for her crazy grandmother to die before they could come for her. She was a shape shifter, but it had been kept from her. Zach just wanted this done and out of the way so he could prepare to become the new Alpha of the pack. He didn’t want a mate but it seems that fate had something else planned for him.
Sara Morrighan was mostly ignored by the locals. Who wanted a scarred woman who limped? She also had no idea that there was a Pride after her or that the pretty man she accosted while drunk was more than he seemed to be. Golden Retriever Sara just lived her boring life trying to keep her crazy friends, Miki and Angelina, from killing each other. All that was changing now. And quickly.
Plenty of action as the Pack has to protect Sara as she has no idea there is a Pride that wants her dead….let alone having a clue such creatures exist. Dealing with Pack politics and alpha females. And having to find a way to let Sara know what her roots are. Romance, humor and fierce loyalty from the people around Sara create this story, which is just the beginning.
**Strong sexual situations and language”

I'm going to check it out if its more of the same I'll pass on the rest of the series.”DramaQueenLucy wrote this review Saturday, September 1, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read. I liked how the girls could kick but and did not take anybody's garbage. ”booksandmorebooks wrote this review Thursday, March 8, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Awesomely great read. It kept me on the edge and I was even able to read it on my tiny iPhone. What actually was considered a little read before taking a nap, turned into scarfing down the whole story in record time. Loved it. I'm glad I came back to this "first" story of Laurenston's shifter series.
Though completely different in writing style and feeling compared to her Pride Series, this kept me hooked without trouble. Especially Sara's sass made me laugh as well as Zach's utter disbelieving mind and hidden sweetness.
The sweet side story with Miki and Conall was great too. Can't wait to read their story next!”
“2.5 stars. This book was kind of all over the place - plot elements and background weren't really clearly explained and the characters weren't as well-developed as they could have been, although the potential was there. In fact, the whole book felt like it had potential that just didn't quite get there. I really like some of the author's other series, so on the strength of that, I'll probably try book 2, but based on this book alone, I wouldn't go an further with this series.”Booklover wrote this review Saturday, February 11, 2012. “Great series! This is an author that knows how to combine paranormal romance with humor! The characters are so real! This is a fabulous series with dynamic shifters...a whole variety of them. ”whitney wrote this review Monday, August 1, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I had a tough time with this book when I was a bit past the half way mark; it turned in to the biggest sex marathon in history. So much so that I started skipping past the sex because I wanted to get back to the plot... such as it was. I'm not a wimp when it comes to explicit sex in my books, but at some point it just gets downright boring. I know I'll go back and actually finish the book eventually, but I'm just not compelled to do so at the moment.”PJ Scalf wrote this review Friday, May 20, 2011. “Action packed paranormal story that did indeed have graphic language, violence and hot sex but wrapped in so much humor I found it very entertaining. In a crowed bar wolf-man Zach is captivated by Sara who walks with a limp and calls him her pretty man.”Dawn ♥ romance wrote this review Sunday, May 15, 2011.
