Didn’t Like It “the reviews i read for this book made it sound like an erotic mystery. there was really nothing erotic about it and the lack of the depth of the two characters the novel centered around left a lot to be desired.” see full review » see other reviews » |

“A rather dark little novella. Easy reading. Kohler has written a gem as far as susupense goes becauses as you realise what has happened the anticipation builds to such a degree that you feel almost as though you'd like to skip to the last page just to find out EXACTLY what happened. I believe a film has already been made of this book, but don't remember hearing or seeing anything about it in the media. Has anyone seen the movie? Was it any good? Also - is this fiction or non-fiction? Kohler is a character in her own book! Or is this just a clever literary device to make you think it's all true?!”

“Such a bildungsroma. It has many surprise twists and turns as told through the memories of women returning to their alma mater. A quick read, this novel is set in South Africa during the 1960's. While the novel isn't as lengthy as most are today, it still packs a punch rife with regret, metaphors and high emotions.”
