Don't be fooled by its girly, The Hills-esque cover. It's an extremely well-written piece with a very likable narratar.

In every high school there is the ruling class comprised of the best-looking and best-dressed girls and boys of the school. At Ocean High it is no different, and mousy sixteen-year-old Winter wants to be a part of the posh social scene. Along with her best-friend, Sloane, they dye their hair, buy a new wardrobe, and completely transform their appearances for the beginning of the new school year.

Soon Sloane captures the attention of and becomes friends with Ocean High's A-listers: Jaci, Claire, and Holly. However, even though she tries as hard as she can, Winter just can't seem to follow them up the social ladder. As Sloane becomes more popular than ever, she completely ignores her former best-friend. But is Winter going to accept being cast out like last year's fashions? Of course not!

Winter becomes fixated on having revenge by blogging about all of Sloane's worst secrets. But when the blog skyrockets to popularity, Winter begins to wonder: is blogging the secrets of your ex-best-friend the right thing to do? Can't she just leave the whole popularity mess alone and enjoy the company of her cute new guy friend? And what happens when this former best-friend finds about this blog?

Fast, entertaining, and filled with mentions of celebrities and designer clothing, KISS & BLOG is a juicy novel perfect for fans of GOSSIP GIRL. The captivating plot had me turning pages for hours, and I just couldn't get enough of the social scene of Ocean High. KISS & BLOG is a definite winner!

    HOT -- Eden K., Melissa M.

Kiss and Blog by Alyson Noel is a very relatable novel. At times I felt like I was reading about my own life. This book depicts high school girl’s behavior in a fun and interesting story. It covers love, laughter, family, and friends. It is very realistic in the sense that it is not perfect. The main character didn’t have her “fairy tale” ending, no girl really does. It was an enjoyable read and I’d love to see more from this author. Student Reviewer: Eden

Kiss and Blog by Alyson Noel is a refreshing and realistic novel. I felt like I could relate to her emotionally and socially. I think everyone has insecurities and makes mistakes. It is a first-rate look into the world of GIRL…from how sweet they can be to how they can be manipulative and conniving liars. It was light and run to read and illustrates high school life, both at home and at school, but it is still original and up to date. It wasn’t like every cheerleader vs. geek novel: it introduced a new group (normal) that is current in today’s high school social structure, while using teenage vernacular. I am eager to read the author’s four other novels. Student Reviewer: Melissa M.

The pink cover makes this book look a lot more fussy and prissy than it is. During the summer before their sophomore year of HS, two best friends, Sloane and Winter, make a pact. They'll both become popular. Of course, Sloane becomes popular while Winter - product of a smoothie-selling hippie mom - does not. Crushed by her bff's betrayal, Winter runs off to NYC for a week to visit her dad, an ex one-hit wonder pop star. In NY, she meets a guy and develops her own style - a totally hip, anti Pastel Posse look. Without Sloane, she settles in with a new group of friends, including new guy, Rey. (Imagine: West Coast Dan Humphrey) To get back at Sloane, she starts an anonymous blog dishing all of her ex BFF's dirty secrets. A super fast paced fun read that has a touch of Rachel Cohn behind its Caboty exterior.
