• Andrew Thomas Miracle: A devout Kansas farmboy with a talent for music and song. A thinker, sometimes plagued by self-doubt.
• Voice/Spirit: Andrew hears a message from a Voice or Spirit in response to his prayer to serve the living God.
• Alison Miracle: Andrew's mother, a widow, still lives on the family farm.
• Cy Mathews: Pastor of Christ's Kingdom Assembly, the church that the Miracles attend. Introduces Andrew to van Grimes.

• Shane MacMillan: Known as "Mac", he is a director assigned to Andrew's video shoot for Atlantic Records.
• Renee Costa: Actress hired to play a role in the video of "Lost Without You". A stunning beauty with a smoldering innocence.
