Now ensconsed at Georgetown after his CIA tenure, Tenet famously refused to have his office even on the same floor as Doug Feith, the neocon chickenhawk of the Rumsfeld Pentagon. What happened? Did he finally develop a conscience; principles; critical thinking skills? A mea culpa from Tenet would've been appreciated by not just me, but also the troops and their loved ones who suffered from the misadventure in Iraq. This book is neither insightful nor solid regarding the decision to invade; but rather obfuscates what occurred by a man who hides behind the state secrets privilege with the knowledge that he was not what he should have been. The books by both Packer and Bamford provide a far more thorough account.

This is one scary book! Despite that it deserves wide readership for the clarification of the complexities of world events and relationships that affect us all. Ultimately this isn't just about 9/11 or the US or George W. or Islam.

Excellent account of some of the most significant events that we have lived through in recent history from a man who witnessed them up close and personal, while being at the helm of the affairs. Well authored and very captivating. Essence: The Bush administration shifted blame for huge policy errors to the CIA, making George Tenet the fall guy.

In my opinion an honest account of the events that led to the tragic events of 9/11. No one will give you an up-close and personnal insight on the events more than the man himself, George Tenet. If you are doubtful or just in the dark regarding the United States foreign policies this is the book to read

seriously, a good book for anyone who wants a more solid view of the news across the past seven years than what the government is giving us.
