• Minor Wife is the seventh novel in the internationally acclaimed Vincent Calvino private eye series. In Thailand, a minor wife – mia noi – has everything to do with the status of a woman in a relationship and nothing to do with age. A minor wife occupies an inferior social status. She lives under the shadow and in fear of her husband’s major wife or mia luang. Some minor wife’s accept their fate. Others resist and plan for a better life. Some have friends to comfort them; others have enemies who threat their rice bowl. When there is a murder in the apartment of a minor wife, she needs all the help that she can get. Minor Wife is a contemporary murder mystery set in Bangkok – a neighbor and friend, a young prostitute, is found dead by the minor wife – killed in the minor wife’s apartment. Calvino is hired by her rich expat husband to find the killer.
