Didn’t Like It“Hey lets take all the punctuation and all of the spaces out of the Bible and play word find. Then we'll post hoc rationalize any patterns we see and call them predictions. |
“One of my favourite books”

This book tells us nothing new about the Bible yet it is a deep insight into Drosnin's delusional mind. ”
“Useless fiction that gain its popularity from a pivotal base in monotheist religions. A waste of time.”

It is very interesting and the guy seems very convincing but I believe that the Bible is meant to be read, I don't for a minute think that it is some kind of computer code.”

Yes | No“Journalist Michael Drosnin examines a theory put forth by mathematician Eli Rips in a peer-reviewed article that one could find a hidden code in the Leningrad Codex version of the Torah. By noting the equidistant spacing of various words or phrases, such as "Torah," then transforming them to a grid, the code allegedly reveals itself in a manner similar to a word-search puzzle. The code then predicts present-day events.
I'm thoroughly amused by the controversy this book has caused since its release, with the various refutations and counter-refutations by very serious and esteemed mathematicians, among them a Nobel laureate.
It's a fantastic premise that's easy to dismiss out of hand. I can't say that I buy it either. Still, I find the work and thought that went into it fascinating, and am guessing that the controversy itself will yield something more fruitful than a magic eight-ball look into the Bible. ”
“An interesting theory; I enjoyed the analysis and their conclusions. A pretty easy read.”

Apparently in the original Hebrew Torah, "predictions" arise when a program picks out every so many letters and strings them together. Written by an objective journalist.”
