This book is the starting place for so many of us. It is the first book that was recommended to us and is very helpful in explaining sensory processing disorder. It is a good resource, but I read it at the beginning of your journey and it left me thirsting for more information. It was a great book to start with and really get a good understanding of sensory issues. What do you think of this book?

Probably the equivalent of the Bible for those of us who have children with sensory issues.

My son has SPD and this book was very informative! It was great to finally understand a little of what my son might be going through. Although a lot of the cases didn't fit my son (they were a bit more extreme). It made me feel good to know that so far... we're doing all the right things... and that even before the diagnosis, we were doing the right things naturally.

I was so thankful for this book. When Sensory Integration was first mentioned to me I had no idea what it was. This was the first book I bought on the subject, along with it's companion, and it helped me to understand what SI is and how to best get treatment for my child.

Very useful in my beginning research as I find out more and more about my daughter's sensory integration issues. This is the first real source that I have had in my hands that has really put a name to her issues and has given me some other avenues to follow.

The first book I bought. Expert explains how Sensory Integration Dysfunction can be confused with ADHD, learning disabilities and other problems. Tells how parents can recognize the problem. Offers a drug-free treatment approach for children who need help but does not include activities.
