“In the second book in the series, Thomas has escaped the maze and is sent to the scorch. The scorch is the most heavily affected area by the heat and is filled with cranks, flare infected zombie people. The flare is a disease that goes to your brain and slowly makes you go crazy. There is no solution for this disease yet but W.I.C.K.E.D, which stands for World In Catastrophe Kill zone Experiment Department, are supposedly the good guys but no one can be too sure of that. I mean they put them in a maze and now they are putting them in a desert. So Thomas and the rest of his friends from the maze, and the Group B people are given two weeks to get to the Safe Haven, where the cure is supposed to be. This book is filled with suspense, anger, and sadness and is a 7 out of ten book. Although the book started off slow, the middle is were it picked up and got me interested.
