In every generation, there is a Chosen One. A slayer destined to protect the human race. She alone must fight the demons of hell. She alone must risk her life to stop the spread of evil. Buffy is the Chosen One. In Coyote Moon , a typical night at the carnival becomes deadly as shape shifters turn the amusement park into their own house of horrors. Buffy starts having past-life nightmares in Night of the Living Rerun , and must face her historic counterpart before the events of the past repeat in the present. In Portal through Time , Slayers over the centuries are in danger, and Buffy must protect them in order to save her own life and legacy.

Characters/People edit see section history

  • Buffy Summers: Protagonist. The Slayer, AKA the Chosen One. After the death of the previous Slayer, Buffy was "called" to her post to fight the forces of evil, with her Watcher as her trainer and guide. Perks of being the Slayer include supernatural strength, premonitory dreams, and speedier healing than average. Downside of being the Slayer: Every big bad tries to kill you. Also, you have to survive high school.
  • Rupert Giles: Buffy's assigned Watcher, serving as a trainer/guide to the young Slayer. Giles is English. He is also the librarian at Sunnydale High, which conveniently allows him to perform the function of research team. Formerly known as "Ripper" in his youth, Giles has come a long way from the dark-magic-dabbling hooligan he was-- but he's hardly one to be underestimated.
  • Willow Rosenberg: Buffy's best gal-pal, redheaded and cheerful Willow is a (mostly) normal high school student with an knack for computers. Shy and a self-described "spaz," Willow nonetheless is determined to help out her friend as one of the "Scoobies," Buffy's unofficial backup.
  • Xander Harris: Another member of the "Scoobies," Buffy's unofficial backup, Xander describes himself as more of a lover than a fighter. Somewhat socially awkward and with a tendency toward slacking off academically, Xander often finds his love life in decline while his extracurricular activities involving getting chased by monsters decidedly on the rise. Xander tends to mask his fear behind a steady stream of sarcasm and mockery, but when his friends need him, he'll wade into the fray with everyone else.
  • Angel: Angel is a vampire who has been cursed with a soul, and thus a conscience. He is dating Buffy. His evil alter ego is Angelus, a vampire who cut a bloody swath through a century and a half or so of victims. Haunted by his blood-soaked past, Angel tries to hang on to his humanity as well as he can while trying to begin making up for the murders he'd committed.
  • The Master: An ancient vampire interred in an underground chamber from which he can only escape through ritual. Shrewd, intelligent, manipulative and calculating, the Master has an irritating habit of being able to amass devoted, if not in fact worshipful minions who desire to set him free, or enable him to "rise." As the Slayer stands between him and
