“classic - want to this book again”

He started everyday lying face down on the floor in worship & is a new hero of mine. I really like his critisism of modern societys' tendancy to seperate spiritual life & regular life entirely, or how we have a space in our heart that only God can fill & yet we keep shoving things in their (like our selves) that leave us feeling empty. Here is a good quote, "Keep reminding God in our times of private prayer that we mean every act for his Glory; then supplement those times by a thousand thought-prayers as we go about the job of living." That is how I should live my life!”

Expresses the importance of understanding humanity does not separate us from God - only sin. So it's imperative we allow the Holy Spirit full reign to deeply examine, completely identify, and painfully extricate the very roots of all existing sin issues in our lives for us to experience the same intimacy Jesus had with His Father.”

Tozer is a a journey that will make you work out your salvation with fear and trembling. It will challenge your walk with Christ in a way that it has not been before. I read this book earlier this year and it changed my world view on several ways that I viewed God and need to change. It is not an easy read because it keeps you thinking about how well you are walking with Christ. If you are up for the challenge and want to grow deeper with God, this will be another step in that direction. It encourages the reader to think about Christianity in a way that may not have been thought of before: daily, continual sanctification instead of a one time decision for Christ thirty years ago. We are not saved by our decisions. We are saved by Christ's grace through faith alone.
The Bible is not an end in itself, but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God, that they may enter into Him, and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the core and center of their hearts.”
“The Lord used this book to help change my life. I highly recommend it!”

He is calling to us more than we have ever called to him. If only we could take the time from the stress and speed of our lives that we whine about so much every day our search could be over. Why, because we will not have to search anywhere but right here and God will find us. Oh! How simple this seems yet I can't even imagine how I will do this. I've heard it said so many times that God is near and that He calls to us, but never as Tozer puts it.
I highly reccomend this book. It may have an older tone to it, but the passion and ideas of it are so true for the world we live in.
