What better way to give yourself a pat on that back than by writing your memoirs during the crest of a comeback ?

I bought my copy for 95 pesos at the booksale stall at starmall in edsa central.

This Book was really funny and weird at the same time like all Rock N roll Books are. Gene simmons had a wild life during his tours with KISS. He met alot of girls partied and Some other stuff that i should not say. This book tlaked alot about his life witht eh band then getting married. Having kids. I thought thisbook was actaully not so good at all becasue gene simmons is a freak and knd aboring at the beginning of the book jsut talking about his kids and wife and all i dont see no partying or anyhting about the band. My favorite scne is tht when gene simmons is talking about him spiting real blood all over the sudienece i thought that was kinda kool. Other might liek it if you love gene simmons.

In a way it's a good thing I didn't know half the stuff revealed in this book when I was 12. Ace Frehley is the main reason I'm a guitar player today. If I'd read the stuff about him that Gene talks about back at that tender age I may have steered away from pursuing the guitar in any way, shape or form. Then again, I "outgrew" Kiss not too many years later (for the most part--at least for a decade or two) and probably would have found some OTHER guitar player to inspire me anyway.

Simmons tells some but not quite about his legendary sexual conquests beginning with his junior high classmate and continuing to scale heights with Cher, Diana Ross and even the two backup singers from Kid Creole. Simmons the teetotaler of KISS, makes up for his lack of fortitude for drink and drugs with his gargantuan libido and as sure as the Jewish People crucified Jesus and dissed Mohammed the Prophet, he does not pass up the chance to get it on with his limo driver -- a senior citizen and her grand daughter !!!

It takes a real man to be in simmon's shoe and costume. The only downside is that he repeately disses lead guitar player Ace Frehly and Drummer Peter Criss all throughout this bio without even mentioning the obvious -- Ace's and Peter's solo albums outsold Gene's and Paul Stanley's.

You will never read another autobiography of a musician that barely mentions playing music. You will also not envy Gene Simmons. The bassist from Kiss is the product of a single parent household. He's never done drugs or drank alcohol. He loves to fuck. He makes sure that you, reader, understand that he loves to fuck and he was raised by his mother without any help from dad. He also loves money. The book is an easy and quick read. Simmons never takes himself or anything else too seriously. Simmons' "Kiss" is like a pleasant Wikipedia page about something you've always known of but never cared much about. Like Kiss.

2 stars purely for entertainment value. I'm still not sure why millions of chicks dig him.

It's about what you would expect from a book by Gene Simmons. It's a book ABOUT Gene Simmons. And his success. And his women. And how great he is...

It's alright, although if you're looking for a history or remembrance of KISS, I would suggest "Behind The Mask"...also authorized and more detailed about the band's journey and songs.

A Must Read for anyone who grew up in the 70's and kept their KISS records hidden at the bottom of their underwear drawer (like me!).

A worthwhile read for anyone interested in a great American success story. The book honestly discusses Simmons rise from birth in Israel to Holocaust survivors, his father's desertion, and his rise to fame.
