  1. Terry Tan (Author) - Born in Singapore, Terry Tan first trained as a broadcaster and worked as a radio producer for 10 years. He also did some television presenting for news and other entertainment programmes. He later switched to advertising as a copy writer and then as a features/food writer for the now defunct Sunday Nation. His first cookbook was published in 1979 and he has written seven to date. In 1983, Terry moved to England as a restaurant consultant and he is currently a freelance culinary writer for several British magazines and other publishing groups, writing on food and other topical subjects. Terry is also well-known on television, having broadcast over the BBC on several occasions, and taping a cooking programme for Satellite Television and a pilot for the BBC general interest programme Bazaar.
