- Boaz Katznelson: Levi's older brother who is a favorite of everybody. He graduated from the same school Levi's in and decided to join the Marine besides the fact that he had gotten plenty of scholorships.
- Levi Katznelson: Levi is the main character of the book who's best friends are Pearl and Zim. He is 17 and his older brother is Boaz. He used to have a really awesome relationship with him until Boaz went into the Marines.
- Dov: Levi and Boaz's grandfather, although he prefers that they call him by his actual name, Dov.
- Christina Crowley: Christina Crowley is Boaz's ex-girlfriend.
- Jack: A marine that is friends with Boaz.
- Loren: A marine that is friends with Boaz. He is not particularly nice.
- Mama Goldblatt: Mama Goldblatt is Pearl's adoptive mother.
- Zim: Zim is one of Levi's best friends. He also isn't on a friendly basis with Pearl.
- Paul: Celine's father.
- Richard: aka Zim.
- Sophie Olsen: A girl at Levi's high school that has a small crush on Levi.
- Rebecca Walsh: A girl at Levi's high school who Levi thinks is hot.
- Marty Muldoon: A guy who used to have a shoe store that Levi and Boaz would go to.
- Pearl: Pearl is Levi's best friend. She isn't on friendly terms with Zim. She is a chinese girl who was adopted by Mama Goldblatt, who is very over-protective. She goes through boys like chocolate and works at the Frozen Yogurt place.
- Celine: A girl that Levi meets at a party later in the book.
- Abba: Levi and Boaz's father.
- Mrs. Katznelson: Levi and Boaz's mother.
