Not as bad as Dragonhaven but not my favorite McKinley book. Really, really slow moving. I appreciate how hard she tried to explain how the Pegasi can do things with their tiny feather hands, but the explaining itself became very tiresome and I was unable to suspend disbelief. Every time she went into detail about how the Pegasi did things I found myself saying, "Yeah right" whereas I think if she'd just *had* them doing things, I'd have believed it and been able to immerse myself in this world. But it was just too cumbersome and exhausting. I'm used to McKinley's books not picking up on real action until close to the end, but this was a bit ridiculous. I think she could have told the story in half the pages.
