  • Giannine Bellisario: A 14 year old girl who goes to a virtual reality arcade, gets connected to the equipment, and starts her game. When she finds out that some demonstrators from CPOC, pronounced C pock. have damaged the equipment, She has to win the game, or possibly lose her life.
  • Janine de St. Jehan (comp animated): The character Giannine must play in the computer animated game. Janine was raised by farmers but is in truth the youngest n line for the throne. She must compete with her brothers to get the crown.
  • Quean Andreanna (comp animated): Queen and wife of the late King. She acts very rude and bitter toward Janine no matter what Janine does.
  • Wulfgar (comp animated): The eldest prince in line for the throne. He was raised out of the country.
  • Abas (comp animated): The middle son of the Queen, second in line for the throne. He is known for his strength in the 'classical sense'.
  • Kendric (comp animated): The youngest prince in line for the throne. He is heard of to practice magic.
  • Sister Mary Ursula (comp animated): A firm believer in Oneness. Most likely mentally insane.
  • Captain Penrod (comp animated): Captain of the guards. Very helpful.
  • Deming: Snotty nobleman who tells Janine the news of her royal ancestry. Somewhat helpful.
  • Rawdon: A helpful character, but steals from the royal treasury, but later on is helpful
  • Grimbold (comp animated): King of the barbarians.
  • Uldemar: Blind man who can sense the dead and transform his shape. Uses lots of magic.
  • King Cynric: The late ruler had an affair with a servant, resulting in Janine's birth, then sent Janine to be raised on a farm because he feared for her life.
  • Nigel Rasmussem: Owner of Rasmussem Enterprises.
  • Saint Bruce the Warrior Poet: To retrieve the ring, Janine must go before his statue and recite a poem of her creation
  • Feordina the Knitter: Tiny, sarcastic woman who dresses in plants and directs Janine to Saint Bruce the Warrior Poet.
  • Xenos: Craftsman of magical artifacts who likes eating centipedes and spiders, especially chocolate-covered ones. He and Orielle do not get along.
