- Kaitlyn Murray: A girl on the edge of womanhood, and at the edge of what she can handle. Uncommunicative by 'normal' standards, yet still with a means of controlling her own situation.
- Daws: Ryan's bodyguard who threatens to steal the hero role of the story, unintentionally. Also one of Ryan's two best friends.
