One part dealt with the personal story of a couple looking to adopt a daughter from China. The second part dealt with the history of women in China, reproduction law and Chinese culture. The portions dealing with the adoption portion were a bit overdone, in my opinion. I found the parts not dealing with the actual author of the book to be fascinating. It almost feels that this should have been two different books. I would have been interested in reading a full length on the women in China section.”

She uses Korean children as a guideline. Very interesting, if a little dry.”
