  • Prince Christian: Crowned Prince of Danelaw, he has been sent to Breton to increase and smooth over international relations. And if he happens to marry a Breton lady, well all the better. Caught in a web of magical deciet, Christian must fight against the magic for the woman he truely loves.
  • Princess Poppy: Princess Poppy or Poppy is the protagonist of the story. She is one of the twelve dancing princesses from the book Princess of The Midnight Ball. Poppy does not like to dance, but she enjoys knitting and playing cards.
  • Eleanora: Also known as Ellen

  • King Karl: Prince Christian's father
  • Marianne: Marianne is Poppy's friend and cousin. Poppy lives in Marianne's house and the two of them are fairly close.
