Tells an astounding tale of the perilous voyage, but didn't quite keep my interest.

The book is mostly about a group of people sailing across the world in 1768 though 1771. It talks about the route the ship is going, and what diseases they have met.

I like it because it has risk taking adventures.just the sound of the word STOAWAY, and I would probably like it.This book is also a true story, it is also part of a young boys journel in it.Of course the real boys jornel.

A journey on the "Endeavor" takes place in the 1760's-1770's. The book is a journal of a 13-year-old stowaway.

An extremely enjoyable and detailed account of life on an early sailing ship. Based upon a true voyage. The fact that it was written in a journal format got a little old. I didn't always need to know the date and the latitude and longitude, particularly as I listened to most of the book on tape.

    Stowaway
    Karen Hesse

The title stowaway basically means what the main character, Nicholas, is. I believe the author wanted the readers to know what this book is mainly about and that’s the reason the author titled the book Stowaway. I like this book because it has a glossary in the back with definitions of words that were used in later years buy have changed in this generation. The title is a huge symbol of the main focus of the book. Nicholas flashbacks to the times he had with his family throughout the whole book. Many situations in the book lead him to remember the hatred among him, his father, the butcher, and his brothers. At one point he remembered his father telling him he was not good at anything when he had finally accomplished something.
This book is about Nicholas Young, an 11 year old boy who goes on an unexpected adventure on H.M.S Endeavour. He sets sailed as a stowaway unknown it will be a 3 year adventure to find a secret continent. When is found by a boy of the age of 15 they become friends and he soon becomes one of the ship’s workers. This book is in first person point of view. Nicholas writes his thoughts in a journal type format. Once he fully builds up a relationship with the captain and the rest of the worker aboard the ship a man by the name of Mr. Banks tries his best to get Nick thrown overboard. He dislikes Nick because he thinks Nick is nothing but a stowaway and should not be treated like everyone else. Nicks has to learn to become a worker to stay on the ship but has a hard time to work as hard as the rest. My favorite chapter is chapter 6 because in this chapter Endeavour on an island they call King George’s Island. Nick meets a young native boy his age and learns his language and discovers that the real name of the island is Otahiti. I like this chapter because Nick meets a new friend and no matter what their differences are he still pushes his self to understand what it is that his new friend is saying and why the natives do what they do. This book is great for age 11-15 because it has a couple of difficult words but there is a glossary in the back of the book. This book has many situations that teens and pre-teens go through. I believe the flashbacks of his family is very appropriate because any child that spends a long period of time without their family are going to think about them and flashback to times they have had with their family.
