  • Yuri Suzuki: An ordinary 15 year old Japanese middle school student. She's the middle one in a family of three sisters. Yuri is just beginning a romance with her childhood friend Himuro when an extraordinary event catapults her into a world far different from her own. Kind, loyal and strong-willed Yuri quickly captures hearts with her strength in standing up for the right even though there are also those who would wish her harm...
  • Prince Kail Mursili: the third prince of the Hittites; Yuri's fate is soon linked with his when he claims her as a concubine. Though a confirmed womanizer, Kail also has a more sincere side to his character...one that increasingly draws Yuri's heart as the days pass.

  • Suppiluliumas: King of the Hittite empire in the 14th century B.C (approx. 1380-1340 BC). In the manga, he is seen to have six sons. His youngest son was born to Queen Nakia, a powerful and ambitious priestess and the main antagonist of the story
  • Arnuwanda: the eldest son of Suppiluliumas I and the Crown Prince of the Hittites.
  • Zuwa: Leader of the Kashga Clan of the North, a psychopath who enjoys wearing clothes made of the skins of his victims
  • Kikkuli: One of Prince Kail's attendents
  • Il Vani: Kail's foster brother and a clerk in the Imperial Palace. Disapproves of Yuuri because he is skeptical of her abilities to be a good Queen
  • Telepinu: the second prince. However he is considered unfit to inherit the throne because he was born to a low-born mother
