I've been hoarding Cathy Lamb's most recent two (and unread by me) books for a time when I really needed a good story.

That time came and this book delivered. Ms. Lamb skyrocketed to the top rung of my favorite authors list with her 3rd book and cemented it with the equally good earlier efforts that I devoured.

My friend who also fell in love with her writing, pointed out that you can definitely see an evolution in her writing even though all the stories are engrossing. It's my opinion that Ms. Lamb really hit her stride with the 3rd.

This is the 4th one and resonated with me on many levels as I've had many similar experiences to Stevie's. I'm absolutely in love with Stevie's "coping mechanism". Makes me want to pick up my family's folk art and get out of the box too with it.

I highly recommend this book for anyone. Especially anyone who has known people with mental illnesses.
