• Carlos Fuentes: A mexican gangster teenager that likes to party and have fun. Always gets what he wants. Moved from Mexico and lived with his brother at first before moving in with Kiara after an incident. After being with Kiara and her family, his ways start to change and his bad boy ways eventually start to go away.
• Kiara Westford: A kind, innocent, unique girl who is Caucasian. The main female character.
• Alex Fuentes: A protective older brother that graduated from high school and was able to go to college. Boyfriend of Brittany.
• Brittany Ellis: A smart Caucasian girl that cares about others and goes to the same college as her boyfriend, Alex.
• Tuck: Kiara's best friend. Always there when Kiara needs him and gives people good advice. He's also very goofy. Gay and not afraid to show it.
• Madison Stone: A rich girl who's parents are always gone. She seems to have everything she wants... and if she doesn't, she finds a way to get it.
• Ramiro: Better known as Ram. One of the first friends Carlos makes at Flatiron High.
• Brandon Westford: Kiara's six-year-old bother. He loves soccer and and playing with his GI Joes.
• Professor Richard Westford: Kiara's father. Ex-Marine. Teaches at the college and helps teenagers and provides them a place to stay whenever they need help.
• Colleen Westford: Kiara's mother. Owns a tea shop called Hospitali-Tea.
• Michael: Kiara's ex-boyfriend. He dumped her through a text message.
• Devlin: Is the leader of a gang.
• Carlos Fuentes: Alex's little brother. Rebellious. Moves to Colorado to live with Alex. Ends up falling in love with a girl he would have never imagined.
• Kiara Westford: Geeky kind of nerdy girl. Loves the outdoors. Also loves hiking and climbing mountains. But towards the end of the book willl her personality change?
• Luis Fuentes: Brother of Carlos and Alex. The youngest out of the Fuentes boys.

• Carlos: Carlos is a rebelllious high school senior who doesn't want to get emotionallly involved with any girls because of his ex girlfriend breaking his heart. But when he is sent to live with his brother he meets Kiara whom no matter how hard he tries he can't resist.
• Kiara: Kiara isn't your average senior girl in high school. She like to work on cars especially her vintage monte carlo that Alex, Carlos's older brother has been helping get some parts for. Her boyfriend of the summer recently dumped her when Carlos moves in with his brother Alex. What she doesn't know is that she's about to fall head over heels for him, or maybe head over boots since she like to hike...
