Sides is a native of Memphis who is haunting by this part of the city's past. Written in novel form he tells parallel stories leading up to MLK's assassination. The near depression filled premonition of King, the curious geeky villain of James Earl Ray, the paranoia of Hoover, and then the country's emotion trauma, the incredible work by the FBI in the largest manhunt in their history. It also is a good piece of 60s cultural-historical place.
