God tells Laci and David it's time to move back to Cavendish and David is only too happy to comply. He can't help but wonder though...why? Is this his chance to finally be truly happy? Or are they returning home because more trouble lies ahead?

- Laci: Wife of David, Mother of Lily and Dorito. God talks to her and she listens. She has the patience of Job.
- Tanner: Good friend of Laci and David. Laci, Mike and David are worried that maybe he isn't saved.
- Greg: David's best friend. Killed in a school shooting in book 1, Chop Chop. He had an amazing heart for God.
- David: The main character. Married to Laci, father to Lily and Dorito. His best friend Greg still has an influence on his life today, even though he passed away in high school.
- Mike: Tanner's best friend. He is in Medical School and is an EMT. Helped save Laci's life in Day Day. Engaged to Danica
- Mrs. White: Greg and Charlotte's mom. Her husband was the youth pastor and high school physics teacher in Chop Chop, he was also killed in the school shooting.
- Dorito: A sweet little boy whom David fell in love with at an ophanage in Mexico where Laci worked. After they found out they couldn't have children of their own they adopted him.
- Natalie: Add a description of this character.
- Ashlyn: Youth pastor at David and Laci's church.
- Danica: Mike's fiancee. She took a purity pledge.
- Chase: Tanner and Jordan's brother.
- Sam: A girl that David was infactuated with in high school. After he took her to the prom he realized there was no one for him but Laci.

- Kyle: The kid who killed Greg and Mr. White in a school shooting in book one. Was sentenced to death and was executed.
