The small town girl in me responded to the memoir of the daughter of a doctor in Tennessee and all the people he knows...and all he knows about them.”

Perfect if you've just finished a gloomy tome and want something uplifting. The author takes over as a receptionist for her MD father in a rural eastern Tennessee town. By doing this she leaves a high powered position in Washington, D.C. ”

Yes | No“Carolyn Jourdan is a high profile attorney working for a senator in DC when she receives a phone call that will change her life. Her mom is ill and she reurns to a rural Tennessee town in the Appalachian Mountains.
Her father is the local country doctor and he and his wife have run the office since Carolyn was a baby. Dr. Jourdan is like many country doctors I know or have worked with over the years. They will treat you regardless of whether you have insurance or can pay. They took an oath and they are going to keep it; they are not in the medical profession to make money but to help people. They put in long hours, work hard and are happy if they can pay the overhead.
The book is filled with compassion, love and faith. You will love all the local people you read about as well as the Jourdans. Over the course of a year Carolyn realizes that home fills her heart and soul.
A heartwarming book that will make you stop and think many times.”
“lexandra Fuller but that doesn't say much for the book.
I found it very simple and interesting at points but not anything I was really
interested in.
But in all fairness I prefer Patterson and mysteries. I've read Harlequin books that are better written and could be a memoir.”
