- Thorvald: Thorvald sets the adventure in motion when he learns his father is not who he thought he was. Shamed by the truth of his parentage and desperate to prove his worth, Thorvald sets out across the sea to find his father.
- Creidhe: Creidhe has been in love with Thorvald for as long as she can remember and his best friend for longer. She has all the qualities of an excellent wife and is the daughter Margaret never had. She is the daughter of Evvy and Nessa.
- Sam: Sam finishes the trio and is a strong and loyal friend. He is at home on the ocean and owns a small but successful fishing boat. He is very protective of Creidhe.
- Foxmask/Little Brother: The Foxmask is both a lost little child and the oracle of a wild people. Stolen as a baby he lives on a treacherous island with only Keeper to keep him safe.
- Keeper: Keeper shrugged off his identity before making the decision to save his sisters babe, the oracle Foxmask. He now lives alone with Foxmask on an uninhabited island, protecting Little Brother from danger.
