“Great inside look at Mao's China. Nice to hear from someone that was a follower (of Mao) who then became disillusioned once in China. Wong is a Canadian journalist and does a nice job telling the story. Worth reading again.”

It started my odd fascination with the period, and I've read several books on this subject thereafter. Wong is a good storyteller, it's never boring.”
