  • Kallie Rivière: Hoodoo root-worker in training. Has long dark hair and blue-violet eyes
  • Belladonna Brown: Kallie's best friend and a Voodoo Priestess (mambo) in training. Tall and boyishly slim, her skin the color of dark chocolate, her hair a bushy natural ’fro haloing her head in black and midnight-blue curls
  • Layne Valin: Nomad Fox clan member. Gage was his best friend. A medium or a vessel for the dead as Kallie called him. Has: thick honey-blond dreads that go nearly to his waist, bue-inked Celtic tattoos (including a black-inked fox tattoo beneath his right eye) and pine-green eyes.
