Characters/People edit
- Oz Vessalius: Oz is a heir to the Vessalius dukedom. On his fifteenth birthday, he was thrown into the Abyss by the Baskervilles. While in there, he signed a contract with Alice. Oz is a happy, optimistic, energetic boy.
- Alice: Alice is a chain. She can't remember anything from her past, and so her objective is to find her lost memories. Some people call her the Bloody Black Rabbit (B-Rabbit for short). She's the strongest chain in the Abyss. She loves meat, says what she thinks without thinking first, is very hot-tempered, and loud spoken, though she also has a softer side. She hates it when Oz leaves her by herself.
- Xerxes Break: Break seems like a care-free, never serious and always smiling character, but he can be dangerous and evil at moments. He carries a small doll on his shoulder, who he calls Emily. He serves the Rainsworth household, and is very close with the daughter, Sharon. He said he regards her as his daughter, when Shelly called him a worried older brother. His chain is the Mad Hatter, and he loves sweet foods.
- Gilbert Nightray: Gil was Oz's servant before Oz was thrown into the Abyss. He can't remember any of his past, just like Alice. He's extremely loyal, and is Oz's best friend. To him, Oz is the most precious person. He appears 10 years later, after Oz comes out of the Abyss with the nickname, "Raven", his chain's name.
- Sharon Rainsworth: Sharon is one year younger than Oz. Her chain, Eques, looks like a black unicorn with purple fire for a tail and mane. She was the one who discovered Break, and has been very close with him ever since. She loves romance and thinks of Alice as a younger sister.
