“Here's the thing, if you're curious about the series but not quite sure if you want to follow it, you can start with this. It's gives you a fair picture of de la Cruz's interpretation of Vampires. I, personally, am impressed more than anything. She really owned it not just with the history and mythology but came up with terminologies and jargons to accompany the story. That in my book is astounding, you can tell that this world is very real to her and de la Cruz was, and hopefully still is, inspired when she conceptualized the series. ”

“This isn't actually a novel its a novella and it was surprisingly good. Its filled with short stories of characters you don't really here about such as Allegra who is Schuyler mother”
