Characters/People edit see section history

  • Persephone 'Phe' Archer: The main character; Phe is a fifteen year old girl from L.A. who is coping with the death of her older sister. She enrolls at Devenish Prep hoping to find out why she has been having strange prophetic dreams that link her to the haunting town of Shadow Hills, MA.
  • Zach Redford: Zach is a townie. He's lived in Shadow Hills his whole life---and he's been protecting the secrets of the town for just as long. The Redford family believes in loyalty and solidarity above all else---but when Zach meets Phe all of that changes.
  • Corinne Redford: Corinne is Zach's older sister. She is a highly intelligent over-achiever who excels at everything---except when it comes to social situations. Her family is the most important thing to her outside of school, and she will protect it no matter what. Even if it means controlling her brother's every move and keeping him away from Phe... at all costs.
  • Trent Redford the IV: Trent is Zach and Corinne's cousin. He may be family, but his superior attitude and devious ways keep Zach on edge whenever he's around. And it certainly doesn't help that Trent zeros in on Phe as soon as Zach does. Zach can't tell if Trent is actually interested in Phe or is just trying to get under his skin---either way, the cousins are set on a course to an inevitable collision.
  • Adriana: Adriana is Phe's next door neighbor in the dorm. Adriana's father is an ex-football player and current Virginia senator who, it seems, got his rebellious daughter into Devenish Prep by paying to upgrade the school's athletic fields. Adriana is a bit of a diva, but witty and adventurous enough that Phe soon overlooks her princess attitude and they become friends.
  • Graham: Graham is a surfer that grew up in San Francisco but is now living and going to school in Shadow Hills. He's an office aide at Devenish, and he's also the first student that Phe meets. They bond quickly over their similar values and laid-back California upbringings.
  • Toy: Toy is a tomboy who loves horror movies and the TechConnect program she's in at Devenish. She is good friends with Graham, and she lives in the same dorm as Phe and Adriana. It's hard not to love sweet, fun Toy, and the three girls soon become friends.
  • Brody Kincaid: Brody is Zach's best friend, but he also hangs out with Graham. The moment he spots Adriana, he is in insta-lust and soon becomes a staple at the group's lunch table. His spaced-out, stoner act helps to hide his tragic past.
