It's about this girl named Caitlin who is a 'popular' teetering on the edge, who secretly aspires to be an opera singer. And she can hit a high E flat. Being a performer myself, it was refreshing to read a book about a teenager who is a theatre kid as well. The antagonist was very real, there was nothing a bout her that wasn't realistic!”

A sort of continuation of Flinn's earlier book, Breaking Underwater. The difference is that it's from the girlfriend's point of view (Caitlin), and only has a brief overlap, then continues without Alex in the story very much. Instead, Caitlin gets to tell about her life after she transfers schools, and how her and her mother's relationship grows through the help of what has happened and opera school.”
“For most people, the word "diva" means brilliant and over–the–top. Caitlin, however, seems to be trapped in a not–so–glamorous life with serious ex–boyfriend issues and a permanent yo–yo diet. But when she auditions and gets into the performing arts high school, everything changes. Caitlin can sing like an angel, but it will take more than her voice to help her overcome her past and shape her future. In this companion novel to Alex Flinn's acclaimed Breathing Underwater, Caitlin puts her past as "the abused girlfriend" behind her and moves onward and upward to Diva–dom. Ages:12+

“This book is about a girl who's an amazing opera singer and gets into a performing arts school in Miami. It's a great chic lit book (and you learn some opera stuff along the way!)”

She wants to go to the HighSchool for the Arts in Miaimi (she lives in Key) but her mom thinks it's all a joke, and her dad never sends a Support Check on time. Not to mention she has a restraining order against her ex who seems to pop up in the most un-expected places.”
