I really liked this book. I could feel the cold of the Tundra as I read it! The main character, Beryl was interesting - if a little "out-there" but I loved reading about her experience in The Cage.

Could've been more interesting if the characters had been more developed. Main character was strange and hard to understand. The ending? Well, it came too soon.

I thought this book was amazing. Beryl was a very unique person that was very artistic and courageous. I enjoy adventure stories and this one didn't disappoint. The concept of the cage to take photographs was a new one to me. The author made you care for the characters, and really root for them in the end.

Loved this book! I was there with this girl, cold, afraid, claustraphobic, horrified! My only experience with polar bears is from my stuffed animal collection when I was a child, well they are not cute and cuddly, they are vicious animals! A must read for anyone who likes small powerful books!!

This book is about surviving the elements, but it is also about the necessity of exposing yourself in order to really LIVE. It held my attention tightly. It is so vividly written it actually made me cold to read about the cold - and for that reasons this is a great book to read in the heat of summer. Please read it and discuss with me your take, especially on the fate of the vegetarian.

A beautifully written, riveting story with a twist ending that I have recommended over and over to friends. It explores the prison that we may make of our lives and what extremes can do to a person. What is "the cage" of our spirits, our fears, of our physical environment, of our minds. Beryl Findham experiences survival on several planes. This is a very fine book.
