Yes | No“I read this a while back and i know i enjoyed it as I do like Johansen even though i do not normally care for thrillers such as the ones she writes. I read her books inspite of the unpleasant subject matter coz her characters are interesting and unique and I like the way she writes. Have read all her books, except maybe some that i have not stumbled upon yet.”

I enjoyed the plot as a whole because it made you want to keep reading and never set the book down but there were parts that I had to skip because sex is not something I enjoy reading.

The plot of this book is mainly about a woman named Sophie and how she's worked on a project to cure night terrors. But the man she worked for ends up using it for an evil plan; mind control. So Sophie must find a way to stay alive and save many people. On this quest she finds help by a man the mind control once had hold of and he helps her til the end. Sophie ends up having to put her son in the hands of her friend Jock and his pal Mcduff to keep him safe and sound. While he's safe with her friends she's on an island trying to stop a mass mind control scheme. In the end she does succeed but she did it with the much needed help of Royd.
I think that you would like to read this book because it is a fast read.The content is very interesting as well as the plot but some of the book will probably need to be skipped because of the sexual content...So if you don't mind the whole sex part go ahead and read it. I mainly enjoyed the interesting plot..I hope you do too.”
“An interesting book but not Johansen's best work. I listened to the audio version and it was decent. The plot centers around a formula for REM 4 a mind control substance but the science is not explained quite enough to understand how it works or to really make it believable.

Sophie, the main character is a bit of a poor me type person but she gets stronger throughout.
Jane Maguire has a small role and some others characters from Johansen's earlier books. ”
“I love to read Johansen when I need to escape. Yes, I like the suspense and the cast of characters she has developed. But I think I really like the bad boys. The boys or men you wouldn't really go out with or wouldn't now but who would really shake life up. So Johansen takes me to places I haven't really been and I even laugh out loud at some of the dialog.”
