This book is the ABC for our Christian walk with God; It gives great explanations about death with Christ, consecration and full surrender. It's also a great help if you are studying and teaching Romans.

Don't even have this book yet. It's the basis for my mentoring discussions (along with Romans) with my dear friend Jeannette. So far we're talking but not about the book. I'll keep you posted!

Created a spiritual earthquake in my life when I read this in 1998. An exposition of the spiritual Christian life as developed by Paul in his letter to the Romans. Nee brings home the beauty of the doctrines of justification and sanctification.

Took six months to finish this. There is so much to digest in every paragraph.

If you've ever wondered whether it's possible to live a holy life, and if you've ever struggled with sin (who hasn't?) Watchman Nee's insight into the importance of the cross of Christ might just be what you need. The book is an exploration of the first half of the Book of Romans and explains the significance of the cross for christians. In my estimation, a true christian classic.

Every Christian should read this book. Any who are investigated or pondering the existence of God or the truths in the Bible, should read this book. Any who truly believe that faith in God requires checking your intellect at the door, should read this book. Any who incorrectly believe that humans are actually capable of pleasing God through their abilities or works, should read this book. Any who believe Mother Theresa deserves to be in heaven BECAUSE she did so much good in her life, should read this book. Nee is one of the most eloquent authors in this genre I have come across - and this book was a translation from his talks given during his trip through the U.S. (He was born in China and became a believer at around 20 years old. The second 20 years of his life were spent spreading the faith and writing the books available today. The third and final 20 years of his life were spent imprisoned for his faith, in communist China. According to his niece, a note was found under his pillow confirming that his faith in God, through his imprisonment, had not wavered.) Whether you are a believer or not, it is hard not to admire and want to investigate what is behind a man so driven as he was. Despite considering myself a christian for many years, he has opened my eyes to a layer of the Bible that many never see. One called it the other half of the gospel.

Because this work is so old, it is freely available in pdf form in a number of places on the internet. If you don't want to spend the $5 I paid for it, try to find it online first.
Word of caution: Stand clear of Living Stream Ministry and Witness Lee related publications. They reprint many of Nee's works. Because Witness Lee was a pupil of Watchman Nee, one might falsely assume their teachings will align -they do not. I won't say more, investigate on your own.
