At the beginning of the story a girl named Savvy Christopher moves from New Mexico to Rhode Island because, her dad needs to go to college to support his family.She meets a girl named Gonzo, who becomes her best friend. She plays for a basket ball team called Fire with Gonzo by her side. She gets a poison ivy rash from working at her grandmothers ranch and has to take steroids to cure the rash. She gets busted for taking steroids and her and her coach are suspended from basketball. Savvy has to deal with all kinds of accusations coming her way and has to decioher which are true and which are false.
