A Sheisty Friend (token)

Justine, Simone, and Holly are old college mates as well as best friends that have enjoyed a lasting friendship throughout many years. Suddenly, their lives become chaotic, catty, and envious as one of the women fall head over heels in love with a narcotic detective name Lucus. Simone as self-centered as she can get is betraying her friend Justine by going after Lucas and trying to have an affair behind Justine's back. While Lucas tries to get serious and only have eyes for Justine in his life, Simone makes it hard for the both of them. Holly a true friend as a friend can get tries to be the mediator and keep the bond tight between all three of them but at the same time warns Justine about Simone's ways. While jealousy, secrets, and greed threaten to break up friendship as well as love, Lucas and his partner Noah goes on a dangerous hunt for a drug lord name Nine and the stakes gets higher when Lucas tries to focus on this dangerous bust and keep his lustful womanizing ways at bay.

In reading Karma there were editing and grammatical errors. The characters were long and drawn out in the beginning and the author did not catch the reader until way past 100 pages. As a reader I was looking for that climatic moment or that surprise but the story just seemed too predictable and slow. The last 40-50 pages is when the actual action started. I understood the point of some of the plot the author was trying to get across in regards to being faithful, in love, having good and not so good friends but I just expected and wanted more for the plot to develop and lay the groundwork for the title of the book Karma. Being all that is said, I don't think the book is horrible but I advise others to read it for themselves and base their own thoughts and judgement. I wish the author the best of luck on her next book and hope it get rave reviews.
