“This was an excellent story by Nora Roberts. Fiona Bristow has three beautiful, well-trained Labrador retrievers that she uses in her volunteer job of canine search and rescue. She also has a thriving business of training dogs. She unfortunately was the only survivor of a serial killer who, due to her testimony, is now in prison for life. On Orcas Island in the Pacific Northwest, Fiona has worked hard to build a business and rebuild her life without fear. When a neighbor, Simon Doyle, appears with an out-of-control puppy, Fiona enrolls him in her puppy class and begins her first relationship since her abduction and escape from the Red Scarf Killer, a.k.a. George Allen Perry. Perry, in retaliation for Fiona’s escape later shot and killed her fiancé and his K-9 partner. Suddenly there’s another murder similar to the ones years before and Fiona knows that this copycat killer is going to try to finish what the Red Scarf Killer failed to execute. Very enjoyable.
