  “i skimmed - looking mostly at the photos, captions & conversation sidebars, and picked up a few ideas for color selection & blending. it has a nice, clean & modern layout that i enjoyed.
  
  however i have to agree with reviews on other sites that i really mostly preferred the models' "before" shots, although i liked Jessica, Sarah, and Danielle's transformations best.
  
  it would have been more interesting to me to see more ordinary women (most were professional models already) with less glamorous final shots. i would have liked to see something more wearable; the final shots were certainly very glamorous - almost too much so (granted, they were made up for photo shoots). and clearly photoshop was used (even makeup can't completely erase prominent moles). i very often didn't like how the lips were [over?]done, though i liked several of the eye makeup ideas. and again, mr. barnes' unusual way of contouring, highlighting & blending ("The Glow") was a makeup secret i appreciate now knowing.
  
  despite some publishing errors (photo swaps, inaccurate text-to-photo referencing, etc.) i enjoyed spending the couple of hours browsing the possibilities that makeup can do.”
