I don't know very much about poetry, but I enjoyed these. Particularly notable are "Envy of Other People's Poems", "The World as Will and Representation", "For Czeslaw Milosz in Krakow" and "I Am Your Waiter Tonight and My Name is Dmitri".

He's clearly a good poet, but sometimes he just tries too hard. Poetry isn't poetry in and of itself, it is the emotion that makes it something. This is sometimes way too academic. It's a good read though, and well worth your time. Just don't take him as seriously as he obviously takes himself.

Very interesting collection of poems. I liked Sun Under Wood better -- but this collection is broad and fascinating.

Hass is back, in superb form. The intelligence of the poems is simultaneously easy and sharp; he is likeable without currying our affection. The poems are gently elegaic, sensual, surprising, beautiful.
