It's a clean book from the standpoint of drugs and sexual themes. A bout the worst it gets is the minister and two church members have some beer at a baseball game. There is a story about a niece whose parents are drunks. Her parents are bought off by the childless aunt and uncle who have been nurturing and looking after her
