Lorna Landvik creates a cast of vivid characters with sometimes wacky, sometimes ordinary challenges. As in life, fate brings odd turns -- unexpected bonuses and / or tragedies. Patty Jane's beauty parlor, for example, serves also as gathering place, dance hall, and classroom for assorted subjects. The humble, endearing characters steal the reader's heart for too short a tale.
Enjoyable and easy-to-read.
