A great fictional story based upon actual experience. The story leads you into thinking about the big picture without politics and partisanship. There is a reason this book has been translated into more than 20 languages. I'll read this book several more times.

If you read the book as a vehicle to express values, it can be instructive. But the author has been criticized by the Aboriginal community of Australia, evidently admitted that the book is fictional rather than based on actual experience as she had been claiming. Then she went on to write more works based on Aboriginal thought and values. She has made a lot of money from these books, but I feel they are exploitative of Aboriginal culture without giving anything back, or indeed getting...
