Hush McGillen Thackery is a fifth generation apple farmer in a sleepy hollow in the mountains in Georgia. She is the hardest working and most honest buisnesswoman in the county and her apple orchard proves it. But all of the secrets and lies shes told to keep her family together are about to unravel. When her son E. Davis Thackery jr. comes barreling home from Harvard Law with his new and pregnant bride, who just happens to be the First Daughter of the United States, Eddie Jacobs. Hushes world is turned upside down dealing with the press and the doting motherly tactics of the first lady. But good things also turn up when she meets Nicholas Jakobek Eddies older cousin and personal protector, and falls in love with him.

I really enjoyed this book. It starts off a tiny bit
    slow.
But all of a sudden it draws you in. I loved all the
characters in this book. Author Deborah Smith
captures the flavor of the south.

The story is about Hush ,Suffering through her family's
poverty and losing both her parents by age sixteen.
Hush was given control of Sweet Hush Hollow and custody
of her five-year-old brother, Logan at the age of 16.

Hush McGillen Thackery knew at a very early age that she
    was going to be someone.
Hush decided she would turn the family apple
orchards into a profitable business again.
Though she was made fun of for selling apples from a road
    side
stand, it only inspired her. Hush kept going. Surviving.

I really liked this novel alot. I had been reading alot of cozy mysteries (which I love) but it was nice to read a good novel for a change. The main character Hush, was a strong, good woman. She raised her son virtually by herself and also ran and improved a family apple farm in Georgia. This book deals with all the trials she had to overcome or figure out in her life. I really enjoyed all the characters in this book. I would definitely recommend this book!
