“Wright is a great, stark, clean, and pure sort of poet. He is not straightforward. His poems are challenging. I must admit that I don't understand many of them. But when you read his work you can feel the Zen-like clarity of his mind. It's interesting to read Richard Hugo's biography and realize just how tormented he was. Reading his poems only, I wold be inclined to think otherwise.”
