Without the demonic entity Buer, Alyce Kerr would not be a Faith Healer. Though she once conjured him, Alyce wants to be free of Buer. Binge-drinking seems to help, but ex Ross Garcia helps even more.

The concept is fabulous, and the plotting intriguing, but I couldn't connect with any of the characters. Alyce conjured Buer for immature reasons, and wasn't willing to accept the consequences. And I don't respect binge-drinkers. Oh, and then there's the slight issue that Ross tried to kill her three years ago! That's not a spoiler - it's right there in the publisher's summary. So I couldn't take Ross seriously as a love interest, though Alyce certainly did. Diff'rent strokes...

Still, I need closure, so I'll definitely be tuning in for Careless and Boundless, the next instalments in this trilogy.
